Advanced R&D Facility
A pilot and semi-pilot plant facility equipped for process scale-up, including:
- Thermal and non-thermal processing (PEF, HPP, ohmic heating, autoclaving) – many one-of-a-kind in Israel
- Multiple drying platforms (spray, drum, freeze-drying)
- Membrane filtration and evaporative concentration
- Mixing, dispersing, emulsification, and extrusion systems – the only existing in Israel open-access high moisture extrusion system
Industrial Test Kitchen & Sensory Lab
Full-scale development kitchen for food (re)formulation, complemented by a sensory evaluation lab designed per ISO 8589 standards.
Fermentation Facility
A dedicated facility housing bioreactors (0.2 L to 50 L) with integrated downstream capabilities within the Carasso center, such as centrifugation, membrane filtration, homogenization, and drying.
Laboratory Services
An integrated network of labs offering:
- Routine food analysis equipment (color, water activity, texture profiling etc.)
- Advanced bioanalysis (amino acid profiling, in vitro digestion etc.)
- Access to specialized techniques (like proteomics, microscopy, particle sizing) via Technion’s other service centers coordinated through the Carasso Center

Dedicated spaces for education, training sessions, startup incubation, and public engagement programs.
